The Bird Island-Olivia Community Foundation is organized as a community fund of the Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, which allows gifts to the BIO Legacy to be tax deductible to the full extent of the law. SWIF provides technical assistance to ensure BIO Legacy Foundation’s success, in addition to coordinating compliance with all state and federal charitable giving regulations.
The Bird Island – Olivia Community Foundation has a local advisory board responsible for establishing its purpose and priorities, as well as building relationships with donors and grant recipients.
